I haven't had the best of luck with self-tanners in the past, but, in an effort to appear more alive, I thought I'd give it another go. I checked out reviews of several products on Amazon. The Fake Bake Flawless was listed as the #1 best seller and the 6 oz package was only $12 - sold! First of all, this product smells amazingly tropical. Over time the scent fades and it doesn't leave an unpleasant self-tanner smell. The product is fairly easy to apply. Since the tanning liquid is dark, it is easy to see where you have applied it. The color pay-off of this product is not the best, though it says you can reapply multiple times to deepen the color. I was maybe 1-2 shades darker after one application. The tan begins to fade after the first shower, but I only noticed the fading after about 5 days from patches of color on my inner arm. These patches were subtle enough that I don't think anyone would have noticed. | Overall, I did like this product - especially for the price. I really enjoy the smell, which is not something you can say about many self-tanners. I do wish the initial application lasted a bit longer, but it was easy enough to apply and I don't mind doing a couple of applications to get a good base tan. From there, they say you only have to apply it once a week to maintain the color. |
